President Russell M. Nelson declared, “Anytime you do anything that helps anyone—on either side of the veil—take a step toward making covenants with God and receiving their essential baptismal and temple ordinances, you are helping to gather Israel. It is as simple as that” (Russell M. Nelson, “Hope of Israel,”).





Our mission is to gather Israel by unifying as a whole youth to serve our brothers and sisters on both sides of the veil. President Nelson emphasized, "The Lord is hastening His work to gather Israel. That gathering is the most important thing taking place on earth today. Nothing compares in magnitude, nothing compares in importance, nothing compares in majesty." He also promised that "as you increase your time in temple and family history work, you will increase and improve your ability to hear Him," which is crucial in a time when "it will not be possible to survive spiritually without the guiding, directing, comforting, and constant influence of the Holy Ghost." Youth members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints who live within the boundaries of a Hope of Israel Battalion have the unique opportunity to work together as a Battalion towards a Battalion ordinances goal and add to the global completion count. President Nelson invited all the youth in the Church to “enlist in the youth battalion of the Lord” and take part in “the greatest challenge, the greatest cause, and the greatest work on earth,” that challenge being gathering Israel.
